Mechanical Project Engineer - Summary
- Responsible for the management and execution of mechanical and HVAC systems in commercial and industrial construction projects.
- Collaborates with project teams to ensure timely project completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Utilizes advanced tools, such as BIM, to optimize project design and delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Estimate project requirements, including material take-offs and analysis.
- Develop and manage project schedules, including manpower allocation.
- Coordinate and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) to ensure smooth project flow.
- Prepare and review submittal packages, managing contractor-provided submittal data.
- Assist in the population and management of project documentation and forms.
- Prepare and track project progress billings.
- Support technical analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving for HVAC air equipment, piping systems, and plumbing equipment.
- Apply working knowledge of HVAC & plumbing design, system operations, and construction sequences.
- Utilize construction estimating techniques and testing procedures for HVAC systems.
- Reference and apply ASHRAE data and guidelines in all technical work.
- Maintain project administration, scheduling, productivity analysis, and project cost control.
- Manage procurement of project equipment and materials.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related engineering fields (Civil, Industrial, or Structural), or equivalent industry experience (minimum 5 years as a Construction Project Engineer).
- Demonstrated experience with project administration, scheduling, productivity analysis, cost control accounting, and equipment/material procurement.
- Basic working knowledge of HVAC & plumbing design, commercial/industrial construction sequences, and construction estimating.
- Familiarity with HVAC system testing procedures and ASHRAE standards.
- Proficiency with MS Project, Access or other database programs, and advanced skills in MS Excel and Word.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational abilities for managing technical data.
