The Mechanical Project Engineer position is central to the design, prototyping, and continuous improvement of high-performance sensors, transmitters, and accessories for use in both airborne and industrial fluid power and pneumatic equipment systems. Mechanical Project Engineer - Summary
- Lead and manage the design and development of airborne and industrial sensor products, focusing on electro-mechanical and MEMS technologies.
- Ensure the successful execution of projects through all stages, including concept, prototyping, testing, and production.
- Collaborate with technical teams to achieve project goals and deliver high-quality sensor solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design 3D models for electro-mechanical and MEMS piezoresistive switches, sensors, transmitters, and related accessories using SolidWorks or similar software.
- Provide sustaining engineering support, including processing Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Engineering Change Requests (ECR) for existing products.
- Review customer specifications to develop technical proposals and solutions tailored to client requirements.
- Prototype and test new or improved sensor designs to verify operational performance and reliability.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, documentation, and drawings necessary for project completion and regulatory compliance.
- Participate actively in customer design reviews, offering technical input and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Research and recommend new vendors for hardware components and external processes to support new product development.
- Create and document new processes and best practices for design and manufacturing of sensor products.
- Work closely with peers, machine shop staff, and manufacturing engineers to enhance development efficiency and reduce production costs.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in 3D design of electro-mechanical components and MEMS-based systems.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software.
- Experience with sensor technology, fluid power, and pneumatic equipment is highly desirable.
