The Mechanical Estimator is a crucial member of the construction and engineering team, responsible for providing accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for mechanical projects. This full-time role is instrumental in ensuring that all project bidding processes are completed with precision and efficiency. The Mechanical Estimator collaborates closely with project managers, estimators, and suppliers to deliver reliable bid proposals that adhere to industry standards and client requirements. Working in a dynamic and diverse environment, the Mechanical Estimator contributes to the success of various mechanical construction projects by leveraging expertise in plumbing, sheet metal, and mechanical systems.

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be tasked with analyzing project plans and specifications to thoroughly understand the scope of work. You will generate detailed takeoff reports for estimators, verify data accuracy, and ensure that all changes—such as addenda and scope modifications—are incorporated into estimates promptly. Effective communication with internal teams and external vendors is vital, as you will need to clarify project specifications, address missing pricing elements, and provide alternative solutions when required.

Your ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, isometrics, and specifications will be essential in evaluating project requirements and producing comprehensive bid documents. This position demands proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, to manage data entry, reporting, and analysis efficiently. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to multitask in a fast-paced setting where project priorities can shift rapidly.
