Mechanical Engineer, PE (Senior) – Healthcare Facilities Summary
- Lead and manage complex mechanical engineering projects for healthcare facilities from conception through completion.
- Apply advanced knowledge of HVAC, medical gas, and plumbing systems to ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant designs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain client relationships throughout project lifecycles.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct, control, and monitor all activities on multiple concurrent projects in healthcare facility design.
- Administer all phases of projects, including proposal development, budgeting, scheduling, and specification writing.
- Supervise and mentor teams of engineers and designers, providing technical oversight and quality assurance.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards such as HCAI, FGI Guidelines, and NFPA-99.
- Present complex engineering concepts to clients, partners, and internal teams in both written and oral formats.
- Foster strong client relationships through effective communication and project management.
- Utilize engineering software and core office applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) to support project activities.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering for buildings or facilities, with a focus on healthcare environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency with HCAI codes, FGI Guidelines, and NFPA-99 standards.
- Strong technical knowledge in HVAC and plumbing system design for healthcare, federal, higher education, aviation, or waterfront projects.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under pressure.
- Excellent organizational, detail-oriented, and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of computer literacy; ability to quickly learn new applications as needed.
