Mechanical Engineer
Join our innovative team as a Mechanical Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and qualification of advanced weapon system components for Counter-Unmanned Systems (C-UxS) programs. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will lead critical engineering projects, provide technical direction, and ensure engineering excellence aligned with military requirements. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with skilled professionals in the defense sector.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will serve as the technical lead, driving the development of complex mechanical systems. Your expertise in mechanical design, CAD modeling, and engineering documentation will be crucial in ensuring that all components and subsystems meet stringent performance and reliability standards. This role also involves mentoring junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the organization.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, integration and test, and manufacturing, to guarantee that all mechanical solutions are production-ready and meet or exceed project requirements. You will be responsible for guiding material selection and manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ASME Y14 and military standards like MIL-STD-810. Your oversight will help ensure all designs are capable of withstanding extreme shock, vibration, and thermal environments, commonly encountered in defense applications.
The Mechanical Engineer position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, as you will lead root cause investigations, develop corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement across projects. You will also take part in design reviews, presenting technical content to both internal leadership and external stakeholders, including government customers and prime contractors. Your ability to communicate complex technical information effectively will be vital to the success of these initiatives.
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and have a minimum of eight years of relevant experience. A current active Secret Clearance and proof of U.S. citizenship are mandatory due to the nature of the work and security requirements. Experience with Arena Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM), SolidWorks CAD, and finite element analysis (FEA) is essential. Additionally, a current passport is required for business travel.
Physical requirements for the Mechanical Engineer role include the ability to sit for extended periods, participate in meetings, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and use stairs to access multiple floors and buildings. These requirements ensure that you can effectively perform duties both at company facilities and customer worksites during travel.
Working as a Mechanical Engineer provides the unique advantage of contributing to national defense while developing advanced technical skills and leadership capabilities. The company is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment. The organization is an Equal Opportunity Employer and maintains a drug-free workplace to promote safety and excellence.
