Invariant Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide expert technical leadership in the design, development, and qualification of advanced weapon system components. Mechanical Engineer - Summary
- Lead technical contributor to advanced weapon system component design and development for C-UxS programs.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical growth and collaboration.
- Ensure mechanical designs meet or exceed military performance, reliability, and manufacturability standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the complete mechanical design and development process for subsystems such as structures, housings, actuators, and mechanisms.
- Oversee CAD modeling, engineering drawings, and documentation aligned with ASME Y14 and MIL-STD requirements.
- Guide material selection and manufacturing process decisions to ensure suitability for extreme environments, including those defined by MIL-STD-810.
- Conduct and present at design reviews (PDR, CDR), sharing technical details with leadership, contractors, and government stakeholders.
- Investigate hardware failures, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve product reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring all design requirements are met and products are production-ready.
- Contribute to long-term innovation, including technology insertion and mechanical design improvements across multiple product lines.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field) required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in a similar role.
- Active Secret Clearance required to perform job duties.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility).
- Valid passport required for travel.
- Proficiency with Arena Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM) and SolidWorks CAD for mechanical design and finite element analysis (FEA).
- Ability to sit for extended periods, lift/move up to 50 lbs, and use stairs between work areas as needed.
