Mechanical Construction Project Manager - Summary
The Mechanical Construction Project Manager is a senior-level professional responsible for overseeing all aspects of mechanical construction projects with a primary focus on HVAC and plumbing systems. This role involves comprehensive project management, from initial client acquisition and sales through to completion and delivery of complex construction projects. The Mechanical Construction Project Manager serves as the central point of contact for clients, ensuring that project objectives are met, quality standards are maintained, and all work is delivered efficiently and safely. The position also requires mentoring junior staff, collaborating with cross-functional internal teams, and maintaining strong relationships with both clients and industry partners. Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as the primary client liaison, providing single-source responsibility for all aspects of project delivery.
- Develop and manage client relationships, including leading client meetings and negotiating contracts to finalize sales.
- Oversee all aspects of project management, including concept engineering, cost estimation, proposal development, and project execution for HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Manage contract administration, including sales, estimating, procurement, and project execution to ensure successful project completion.
- Coordinate field labor requirements in partnership with field leadership to optimize installation sequencing and resource allocation.
- Monitor and control project budgets, prepare financial forecasts, and ensure projects remain within approved cost parameters.
- Create and manage project documentation such as proposals, contracts, change orders, and correspondence to support sound business operations and legal compliance.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary internal teams, including Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Construction, and Service departments, to achieve project milestones.
- Participate in and contribute to special projects, committees, and studies designed to enhance technical and operational processes.
- Mentor and support the development of Project Engineers and Project Coordinators, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
- Attend and lead project management, sales, and construction meetings to ensure effective communication and alignment among all stakeholders.
- Schedule and facilitate pre-construction meetings to coordinate efforts across departments and set clear project expectations.
- Utilize internal resources strategically to fulfill customer requirements and achieve project objectives.
- Contribute to new business development initiatives and maintain a visible presence in industry or community organizations to support growth and reputation.
- Carry out additional duties and assignments as directed by upper management to achieve organizational goals.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating, designing, or managing HVAC projects, with experience spanning projects valued from $50,000 to over $100 million.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and autonomously while meeting organizational objectives.
- High level of integrity and professionalism in all business dealings.
- Proven track record in developing new business and expanding client relationships.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously.
- Active involvement in industry or community organizations is preferred.
- Valid class "C" driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required by business needs.
