Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician (MFM) - OBGYN Summary
As a Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician (MFM) - OBGYN, you will play a pivotal role in the management and care of patients with complex pregnancies. You will work closely with a team of sonographers, nurses, genetic counselors, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers (APPs) to deliver comprehensive care tailored to high-risk obstetric cases. The position covers a variety of clinical settings, including outpatient clinics, antenatal testing units (ATU), inpatient consultations, and labor and delivery (L&D) support. This role is designed for physicians who are passionate about high-quality, collaborative care and who thrive in dynamic, multidisciplinary environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide high-level care for women experiencing high-risk pregnancies, including prenatal consultation and management for complex maternal and fetal conditions.
- Interpret and supervise perinatal diagnostic studies, such as ultrasounds, biophysical profiles (BPPs), and Doppler assessments.
- Deliver both outpatient and inpatient care, including participation in multidisciplinary care planning and inpatient consultations.
- Collaborate with obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) teams, supervising sonographers and supporting educational efforts for residents and fellows.
- Participate in call coverage, providing on-site support for medically complex deliveries and acute maternal-fetal emergencies in labor and delivery units.
- Utilize integrated electronic medical records (Epic-based EMR) for comprehensive documentation and care coordination.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree required.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Maternal Fetal Medicine (ABOG) is mandatory.
- Active or eligible medical license for practice in New Jersey.
- Demonstrated experience and comfort working in high-volume, collaborative clinical environments, particularly those focused on high-acuity obstetric care.
- Proficiency with integrated EMR systems (Epic-based preferred) for patient documentation and care coordination.
