As a Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician (MFM) – Locum Tenens, you will be responsible for supervising and interpreting advanced perinatal diagnostic studies, such as ultrasounds, biophysical profiles, and Doppler assessments. You will serve as a consultant for complex maternal-fetal conditions, including but not limited to preterm labor, hypertensive disorders, diabetes, and placental abnormalities. The role involves active participation in multidisciplinary case conferences focused on specialized topics such as maternal cardiac disease and fetal anomalies, and requires a high degree of collaboration with the broader care team.
This position is 100% ambulatory/outpatient, with no requirement for primary obstetric deliveries or gynecologic care, allowing you to focus exclusively on high-risk perinatal consults and diagnostic oversight. The clinic supports a significant patient volume, with approximately 130-150 scans performed daily by a team of professionals, ensuring a robust clinical experience. All work is supported by a comprehensive staff, including experienced ultrasound technicians, nurses, medical assistants, residents, fellows, and advanced practice nurses (APNs).
The ideal candidate will be ABOG board certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine, hold an active medical license or be eligible through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, and demonstrate experience or comfort working in academic or high-volume ambulatory MFM settings. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Epic and imaging platforms like Viewpoint is highly valued. Strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork are essential for success in this role.
