Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician (MFM) Position OverviewOptigy is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician (MFM) to join a leading perinatal care team in Sacramento, California. This full-time, permanent role provides an outstanding opportunity for a board-certified or board-eligible MFM specialist to work in a collaborative, technology-forward environment. The position is designed for professionals passionate about supporting complex pregnancies and engaging in both clinical and academic medicine within the Sacramento region.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive perinatal care to expectant mothers, focusing on high-risk pregnancies and advanced fetal conditions.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes four Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physicians, experienced sonographers, medical assistants, and genetic counselors.
- Perform and interpret a range of diagnostic procedures, including ultrasound, amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), fetal echocardiography, and intrauterine procedures as indicated.
- Provide both outpatient and some inpatient consultation services, ensuring continuity of care for patients throughout their pregnancy journey.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, sharing responsibilities with an OB Hospitalist team for deliveries and emergent consultations.
- Engage in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, fostering a learning environment that promotes academic growth and professional development.
- Contribute to the advancement of perinatal care through involvement in quality improvement initiatives and collaborative case reviews.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Maternal-Fetal Medicine is required.
- Demonstrated experience with advanced fetal ultrasound, fetal echocardiography, and CVS is preferred.
- Commitment to working onsite in Sacramento, California, with willingness to relocate as needed. Commuters and locum tenens candidates are not being considered for this position.
- Active, unrestricted medical license and current board certification status (no lapsed certifications).
- Work in a modern clinical setting that supports approximately 6,000 annual deliveries and features a Level IV NICU.
