Maternal Child Registered Nurse (RN) - Summary
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to postpartum mothers, neonates, and postoperative patients in a dynamic healthcare setting.
- Support the mission of improving the health and readiness of military personnel and their families through quality nursing care and patient advocacy.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment, partnering with multidisciplinary professionals to ensure superior patient outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns, including monitoring, assessment, and support throughout the recovery process.
- Care for postoperative patients, ensuring effective pain management, infection prevention, and safe recovery.
- Obtain and document patient and pertinent family history, including advanced medical directive information, to inform care decisions.
- Observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress, communicating findings to physicians and the healthcare team.
- Assist physicians during treatments and examinations, administering medications and prescribed treatments as directed.
- Complete admissions, discharges, and coordinate continuity of care to promote patient convalescence and rehabilitation.
- Manage care for patients undergoing advanced procedures with high infection risk, including those requiring life support equipment.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the transitional care of neonates, supporting optimal outcomes for newborns and their families.
- Float within similar specialties as needed to ensure comprehensive patient coverage and support team operations.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate's degree in nursing from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school.
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience, preferably in maternal-child or neonatal care.
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in one of the 50 US states or territories.
- Certifications required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider-Advanced (NRP)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, Emotional Support)
- US citizenship is required.
