Material Planner - Summary
- Responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the procurement and flow of materials required for project completion.
- Works closely with various departments to gather information and determine material requirements.
- Coordinates with buyers and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.
- Utilizes and maintains complex, computerized inventory systems to optimize inventory levels and support organizational goals.
- May require occasional travel to other company facilities or job sites, both domestically and internationally.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans and communicate with internal teams to determine material needs.
- Coordinate with buyers and suppliers to procure necessary materials, ensuring accuracy and punctuality of deliveries.
- Oversee inventory management, maintain accurate records, and develop reports for inventory reconciliation.
- Implement and monitor security within inventory systems, managing program access and data integrity.
- Continuously seek opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance customer service.
- Modify production schedules as needed to accommodate process changes or unforeseen circumstances.
- Collaborate with expediters and other staff within a comprehensive computerized inventory and accounting environment.
- Enter data and information accurately into computer systems, utilizing spreadsheet and database management software.
- Communicate effectively with both internal colleagues and external vendors, both verbally and in writing.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- APICS (CPIM) certification is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of three to five years of directly related experience in material planning or supply chain management.
- Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of ISO 9000 standards and Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory methods.
- Familiarity with project management techniques and estimating methods.
- Experience in the aerospace industry, particularly in the manufacturing of airline seats, is considered a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret documentation and component maintenance manuals (CMMs) written in English.
