Material Handler Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and reliable Material Handler to join our team on a full-time basis. The Material Handler plays a vital role in supporting efficient warehouse operations by ensuring the accurate and safe movement of materials, utilizing various types of warehouse equipment and management systems. As a key contributor to our supply chain, the Material Handler will work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor and other warehouse personnel to maintain optimal inventory levels and streamline shipping and receiving processes.
Key Responsibilities- Perform shipping and receiving functions, ensuring all incoming and outgoing materials are accurately documented and processed.
- Manage warehouse inventory by keeping track of stock levels, reporting discrepancies, and conducting regular inventory counts using warehouse management systems.
- Utilize warehouse management systems to record material movement, locate stock, and assist in order fulfillment.
- Assist the Warehouse Supervisor as needed with day-to-day warehouse operations, following all instructions and maintaining open communication.
- Conduct order picking tasks with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring that orders are completed correctly and within specified timeframes.
- Operate heavy equipment, such as reach trucks and order pickers, to safely transport, load, and unload materials throughout the warehouse facility.
- Adhere to all safety protocols when operating warehouse equipment and handling materials to maintain a safe work environment for all team members.
- Prior experience in shipping and receiving roles within a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated familiarity with warehouse management systems and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively under the guidance of a Warehouse Supervisor and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in order picking processes and the use of inventory tracking technology.
- Experience in operating heavy equipment such as reach trucks and order pickers for material handling tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical capability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks as required by warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in using standard warehouse equipment, including reach trucks and order pickers, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
