The Material Handler will be responsible for handling a variety of tasks that support the smooth operation of extrusion lines and other production processes. This includes preparing precise material mixes according to work orders, maintaining accurate records in line with ISO, GMP, and HACCP standards, and operating equipment such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and railcar unloading systems. Adherence to Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) procedures and commitment to all safety regulations is mandatory, safeguarding both personal and team well-being.
In addition to technical responsibilities, the Material Handler will ensure that all materials are properly labeled, tracked, and stored, maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, division, fractions, and percentages, is essential for preparing mixes and computing rates and ratios in practical situations. This role requires the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

- Creates and applies accurate labels for material bins, gaylords, and cartons.
- Assigns lot numbers in accordance with ISO procedures.
- Ensures all materials are properly covered and protected at all times.
- Maintains accurate daily mix logs and production records.
- Operates powered industrial vehicles, including forklifts and electric pallet jacks, following proper training.
- Operates material grinding systems efficiently and safely.
- Performs mathematical calculations for mix preparation and production needs.
