Material Handlers play a critical role in ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. Items that do not meet quality standards are to be properly documented and rejected, helping to maintain the integrity of our inventory. In addition, you will move materials within the work site, utilizing manual methods or equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts, if appropriately certified. Packing, strapping, and wrapping materials for shipment or storage are also core responsibilities of this role.
In this full-time Material Handler position, you will be expected to perform system transactions using an ERP system, with Oracle experience being especially valuable. Cycle counting activities are a regular part of the job, requiring investigation and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies to support accurate record-keeping and inventory control. Familiarity with MS Excel, including tasks such as filtering, sorting, and performing v-lookups, will enhance your ability to manage inventory data effectively.
Success in the Material Handler role is dependent on strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, analytic approach to problem-solving. Flexibility in start times is important, as shifts may vary according to operational needs. Previous experience in a hi-tech industry and a valid forklift operator certification are preferred, but not always required. Material Handler - Summary- Facilitates the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensures accurate record-keeping and inventory management through ERP and MS Excel systems.
- Performs physical handling of materials, including loading, unloading, and moving items up to 50 pounds.
- Supports shipping, receiving, and cycle counting processes.
- Load, unload, and move materials within or near the work site onto pallets, racks, and shelves by hand.
- Pack, strap, and wrap materials for storage and shipment.
- Perform system transactions in the ERP system, preferably Oracle.
- Maintain accurate records of received goods and reject unsatisfactory items as needed.
- Conduct cycle counting activities and investigate inventory discrepancies.
