We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Market Medical Director (MD/DO) to join our leadership team in Chicago, IL. The Market Medical Director (MD/DO) serves as a mentor and supervisor for Clinical Directors and primary care providers, providing hands-on leadership and strategic direction. In this capacity, you will be responsible for talent development, driving clinical-operations synergy, and supporting successful patient outcomes. You will also allocate a portion of your time to direct patient care, working with a senior patient population managing complex chronic conditions. Your role will also include overseeing financial performance, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, and participating in the ongoing recruitment and development of clinical talent.

Market Medical Director (MD/DO) - Summary
- Leadership and oversight of multiple clinical centers within the assigned market
- Direct supervision, training, and performance management of Clinical Directors and providers

- Reports to the Regional President and collaborates with clinical and operational teams
Duties & Responsibilities
- Directly supervise and mentor Medical Directors and primary care providers within assigned centers
- Guide day-to-day clinical operations, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes and operational efficiency
- Manage performance objectives, including P&L, growth, and patient satisfaction
- Oversee talent development, including training, coaching, and leadership development programs
- Facilitate onboarding and training for new practitioners
- Participate in the recruitment and interviewing of clinical staff
- Establish and maintain relationships with payers, specialists, hospitals, and community organizations
- Monitor center-level culture and address workplace concerns promptly
- Review and approve referrals and manage utilization authorizations as needed
- Collaborate on quality and performance improvement initiatives
- Conduct monthly scorecard reviews and quarterly clinical metric analyses
- Deliver direct patient care (20% of time), managing a small panel of senior patients
- Ensure alignment with organizational core values, behaviors, and service standards

Qualifications & Requirements
- MD or DO degree in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or similar specialty
- Current, active medical license in the state of employment
- Board eligibility required; board certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience; 3 years preferred
- Prior experience as a Medical Director or similar leadership role, preferably with Medicare or Medicaid population
- Experience in managed care, value-based care, or risk management models
- Demonstrated ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and drive quality improvement initiatives
- Completion of internal physician training and attainment of partnership status, if applicable
- Strong analytical, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Comfort with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel regionally and nationally up to 30% as needed
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
