Job Type: Full Time

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician Apprentice to join our full-time team in Oak Creek, WI. As a Maintenance Technician Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of equipment within a commercial laundry plant. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, mechanically inclined, and ready to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity to work with experienced technical and mechanical personnel while developing your skills in equipment maintenance and repair.
As a Maintenance Technician Apprentice, your main responsibility is to perform both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks essential to the continued operation of our laundry facility. This includes preventive maintenance, emergent repairs, and troubleshooting on a variety of mechanical equipment. The position offers hands-on experience and the chance to build a foundation for a long-term career in industrial maintenance.
Working as a Maintenance Technician Apprentice, you will be expected to maintain a high level of awareness of all assigned equipment during production operations. You will work to assure the efficient operation of overhead rail systems, conveyor systems, and other machinery essential to plant productivity. By identifying and correcting mechanical issues promptly—including jams, worn or missing belts, and missing ironer tape—you will help minimize downtime and support operational goals. When necessary, you will seek technical guidance from the Engineering team to resolve more complex equipment problems.
In addition to hands-on equipment work, record-keeping is an important aspect of the Maintenance Technician Apprentice role. You will be responsible for maintaining a detailed maintenance log, documenting incomplete tasks, new issues, and the status of ongoing repairs. Effective communication with production supervisors and your technical team will be essential, especially when equipment status may affect plant operations or production schedules.
This full-time position requires flexibility in scheduling, as rotating weekends may be necessary to support continuous plant operation. You will be expected to follow all established safety protocols, including lockout/tag out procedures, confined space entry, and safe handling of hot equipment. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace is critical not only for your safety but also for the safety of your colleagues.
To succeed as a Maintenance Technician Apprentice, you should be self-motivated, prompt, and able to manage tasks independently or as part of a team. Solid communication skills and a willingness to "go the extra mile" are highly valued. You should also have a working knowledge of machinery, with the ability to assist in repairing and maintaining mechanical drive systems, conveyor systems, and overhead rail systems. Safety awareness and adherence to company policies are essential at all times.
