Maintenance Technician - Summary
As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform scheduled preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair equipment issues, and maintain detailed documentation of all maintenance activities. You will assist with troubleshooting equipment failures, support inventory management for parts and supplies, and work collaboratively with engineers and production staff. This position requires strict adherence to safety standards, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of automated and manual production equipment, contributing directly to the operational success of the manufacturing facility.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on manufacturing machinery and support equipment to maximize uptime and equipment longevity.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical failures, execute timely repairs, and restore equipment functionality to minimize production interruptions.
- Identify necessary parts for repairs, manage inventory levels, and request replacements to ensure availability of critical components.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of maintenance work, repairs, parts usage, and equipment conditions to support compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, EHS guidelines, and SOPs to maintain a safe workplace environment.
- Support troubleshooting efforts during production disruptions and work collaboratively with the team to restore equipment and maintain production schedules.
- Participate in shift pass-downs to ensure seamless communication and continuity between incoming and outgoing shifts.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production personnel to support continuous operation and process improvements.
- Assist with initiatives aimed at increasing equipment reliability, improving operational efficiency, and reducing downtime.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support departmental goals and organizational objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical education in mechanical or electrical engineering is a strong asset.
- Up to five years of experience in equipment or facilities maintenance is desired.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics to effectively diagnose and repair equipment issues.
- Strong teamwork, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments and shifts.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.

- Previous experience in high-volume manufacturing environments such as solar, semiconductor, or automotive industries is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with automated equipment, CNC machinery, or PLC-controlled systems is highly beneficial.
