Maintenance Technician - Summary
The Maintenance Technician is tasked with overseeing the functionality and operational readiness of assigned equipment in a commercial laundry plant. Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on all assigned production equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Respond promptly to unscheduled maintenance needs, diagnosing issues such as jams, belt problems, and missing ironer tape, and making effective repairs.
- Maintain awareness of the operational status of equipment throughout production shifts, proactively identifying potential issues before they impact productivity.
- Assist external vendors and technical personnel during complex repairs or equipment upgrades, fostering collaboration for efficient problem resolution.
- Document all maintenance activities, incomplete tasks, and newly identified problems in the maintenance log for accurate record-keeping and follow-up.
- Communicate clearly with production supervisors regarding equipment status, especially when downtime may impact operations, and notify them when equipment is back in service.
- Adhere to all safety standards, including lockout/tag out procedures, confined space entry protocols, and proper handling of hot equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and safety within the plant.
