The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of production equipment within a commercial laundry plant. This position is responsible for conducting both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, emphasizing proactive and responsive approaches to machinery upkeep. The Maintenance Technician is expected to maintain a constant awareness of the operational status of all assigned equipment, promptly addressing any issues that arise to minimize downtime and maintain productivity. This role often collaborates with engineering teams and external vendors to resolve complex technical challenges, making it essential for the Maintenance Technician to possess strong problem-solving skills and an in-depth understanding of mechanical systems.

In addition to hands-on technical work, the Maintenance Technician is also responsible for maintaining detailed maintenance logs, ensuring all tasks and newly identified problems are accurately recorded. Communication skills are essential, as this role involves notifying production supervisors of any equipment issues that may affect production schedules or cause downtime. The Maintenance Technician must also be prepared to perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support the broader objectives of the maintenance and production teams.
This role requires a solid working knowledge of industrial machinery, including mechanical drive systems, conveyor systems, and overhead rail systems. The Maintenance Technician must be capable of operating tools and equipment safely, understanding and following all relevant safety procedures such as lockout/tagout and confined space entry. Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance activities on all assigned equipment according to schedule.

- Maintain detailed maintenance logs, recording incomplete tasks and newly identified problems.
- Communicate equipment status updates to production supervisors, especially when production may be impacted.
- Assist technical staff and vendors as needed to resolve equipment issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and confined space entry procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment for self and colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations.
