The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of equipment within a commercial laundry plant. This full-time position is responsible for performing both scheduled preventive maintenance and emergent repairs as required to maximize equipment uptime and support uninterrupted production processes. The Maintenance Technician must maintain awareness of all assigned machinery during production, promptly identify and correct issues such as jams, faulty belts, or missing components, and collaborate closely with the engineering team when technical assistance is needed.
In this role, the Maintenance Technician will be expected to document all maintenance activities and unresolved issues in the maintenance log, communicate effectively with production supervisors regarding equipment status, and assist technical personnel and external vendors as necessary. The individual must adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and safe tool operation, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment for themselves and their colleagues. The Maintenance Technician is a key contributor to the plant’s operational reliability and efficiency.
Maintenance Technician - Summary- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all production equipment in a commercial laundry plant.
- Ensures equipment operates efficiently to support daily production goals.
- Performs both preventative and emergent maintenance tasks as situations arise.
- Collaborates with the engineering team and assists outside vendors as required.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all plant equipment, adhering to established timelines.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment issues such as jams, worn or missing belts, and missing ironer tape.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance on conveyor systems, mechanical drive systems, and overhead rail systems to minimize production downtime.
- Assist technical and mechanical personnel—including external vendors—during complex maintenance or repair tasks.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date entries in the maintenance log, noting incomplete tasks and new issues as they arise.
- Notify production supervisors promptly of any equipment malfunctions that could impact production or cause downtime, and communicate when equipment is operational again.
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and working on high-temperature equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area to ensure safety for all employees.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- Competitive hourly wage starting from $20 to $30 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
