The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all equipment within a commercial laundry plant. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for both scheduled and unscheduled tasks related to the maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical systems. Your expertise will be critical in identifying and resolving issues swiftly, preventing downtime, and maintaining productivity within the facility. You will regularly interact with other technical staff, production supervisors, and outside vendors to ensure all equipment is functioning at optimal levels. Maintenance Technician - Summary- The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of production equipment in a commercial laundry facility.
- This position includes performing both routine preventive maintenance and emergent repairs to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.
- The Maintenance Technician works closely with technical staff, supervisors, and vendors to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on commercial laundry equipment, overhead rail systems, and conveyor systems to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Respond promptly to emergent repair needs, diagnosing issues such as jams, damaged or missing belts, and missing ironer tape, and correcting these problems efficiently.
- Maintain and update maintenance logs, documenting incomplete tasks and any new problems identified during inspections.
- Liaise with production supervisors to communicate the status of equipment, especially when issues may impact production or cause downtime, and notify when repairs are completed and systems are back online.
- Assist mechanical and technical personnel, including collaborating with outside vendors as required for specialized maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all maintenance and repair activities are performed in a safe and timely manner, adhering to all safety procedures such as lockout/tag out, confined space entry, and working on hot equipment.
- Keep work areas clean and organized to maintain a safe environment for yourself and fellow associates.
- Carry out any additional duties as assigned to support the maintenance and production teams.
