The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of all equipment within a commercial laundry plant. This full-time position is responsible for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, addressing emergent repairs, and supporting the production team by minimizing equipment downtime. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be expected to maintain a proactive approach to preventive maintenance and be ready to respond quickly to any equipment issues that arise during production operations. Working closely with engineering and technical personnel, you will help optimize the plant’s workflow and contribute to a productive, safe, and collaborative work environment.
In this dynamic Maintenance Technician role, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on a variety of industrial equipment, including conveyor systems and overhead rail systems. You will ensure timely and high-quality repairs, maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, and communicate effectively with production supervisors regarding the status of equipment. The Maintenance Technician is also expected to follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and confined space entry procedures, to ensure a safe work environment for themselves and their colleagues.
This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of operational efficiency. The Maintenance Technician must be able to operate a wide range of tools and equipment safely, identify and resolve mechanical issues such as jams, belt replacements, and missing components, and seek technical assistance from engineering as needed. Maintenance Technician - Summary- Responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on commercial laundry plant equipment.
- Ensures optimal operation and minimal downtime of machinery during production.
- Works collaboratively with plant personnel and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities on industrial equipment as scheduled.
- Address emergent repairs and identify/correct issues such as jams, broken or missing belts, and missing ironer tape.
- Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance activities, incomplete tasks, and new equipment problems.
- Notify production supervisors of equipment status, especially when equipment impacts production or downtime.
- Assist technical, mechanical personnel, and outside vendors as needed.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and confined space entry.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
