The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of equipment within a commercial laundry plant environment. This position is responsible for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, focusing on the efficient functioning of production machinery. The Maintenance Technician will routinely monitor, assess, and maintain all assigned equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. In this role, the Maintenance Technician will perform preventive maintenance, respond to emergent repair needs, and coordinate with engineering teams for technical support as required. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and addressing mechanical issues, such as equipment jams, worn or missing belts, and missing ironer tape. Candidates are expected to maintain clear documentation of maintenance activities and communicate effectively with production supervisors regarding equipment status.

Maintenance Technician - Summary
- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment in a commercial laundry plant.
- Performs both scheduled preventive maintenance and emergent repairs to ensure continuous production.
- Collaborates with engineering and technical staff for troubleshooting complex equipment issues.
- Maintains detailed logs of maintenance activities and communicates with supervisors about equipment status.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities on all assigned equipment according to the schedule.
- Ensure timely and high-quality completion of repairs and maintenance, including work on overhead rail and conveyor systems.
- Assist technical and mechanical personnel, including working with external vendors as necessary.
- Record ongoing and completed maintenance tasks, as well as new problems in the maintenance log.
- Notify production supervisors promptly on the status of equipment that may affect production or cause downtime, and report when equipment is back online.
- Identify and resolve mechanical issues, such as jams, missing belts, or missing ironer tape on assigned equipment.
- Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, confined space entry, and safe handling of hot equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety for self and colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall maintenance operations.
