The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and uninterrupted operation of equipment within a commercial laundry plant. This full-time position is responsible for performing both scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance tasks, including preventive maintenance and emergent repairs. The Maintenance Technician is expected to proactively monitor the performance of all assigned equipment during production operations, respond swiftly to equipment issues, and coordinate with engineering and technical personnel when necessary. This role requires a strong focus on maintaining safety standards, clear communication, and efficient documentation of all maintenance activities.
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be entrusted with maintaining the integrity and efficiency of a variety of machinery critical to plant operations. Your technical skills will be put to the test as you address routine wear and tear, troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions, and resolve issues such as jams, broken or missing belts, and missing ironer tape on your assigned equipment. You will also contribute to the plant’s overall productivity by ensuring that equipment downtime is minimized and any disruptions are communicated promptly to production supervisors.
The Maintenance Technician will also play a collaborative role, assisting both internal mechanical personnel and external vendors as needed. You will be expected to meticulously record maintenance activities and outstanding issues in a maintenance log, which is essential for ensuring continuity across shifts and for future reference. Adherence to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, confined space entry, and the safe handling of hot equipment, is a critical component of this position, ensuring not only your safety but also that of your colleagues.

Maintenance Technician - Summary

- Ensure timely and high-quality completion of maintenance and repairs on overhead rail and conveyor systems.
- Assist both internal technical staff and external vendors in maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain an accurate maintenance log, recording incomplete tasks and identifying new equipment problems.
- Communicate equipment status and potential production impacts to Production Supervisors.
- Comply with all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and confined space entry.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
