The Maintenance Technician is a vital member of the operations team responsible for ensuring the efficient functioning and reliability of all equipment within a commercial laundry plant environment. This full-time position focuses on both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, addressing any equipment issues that may arise during production operations. The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in minimizing downtime, supporting smooth operations, and upholding safety and quality standards throughout the facility. As a Maintenance Technician, your expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of mechanical systems is essential to the ongoing success of the plant's daily operations.
In this role, the Maintenance Technician will be expected to proactively identify potential mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and respond swiftly to emergent repair needs. You will be hands-on with a range of equipment, including conveyor systems and overhead rail systems, maintaining detailed maintenance logs and collaborating closely with other technical and mechanical personnel, as well as outside vendors when necessary. This position requires a keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
The Maintenance Technician must demonstrate a solid understanding of safety protocols, including lockout/tag out procedures, confined space entry, and safe operation of tools and equipment. Maintenance Technician - Summary
- Responsible for performing daily scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks in a commercial laundry plant setting.
- Ensures efficient operation and reliability of assigned equipment during production.
- Collaborates with team members and seeks technical assistance from engineering staff as needed.
- Maintains detailed maintenance logs and communicates equipment status effectively.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance activities on all assigned equipment according to schedule.
- Address and resolve emergent repair needs, including issues such as jams, bad or missing belts, and missing ironer tape.
- Maintain quality and timely completion of all maintenance and repair tasks, focusing on critical systems like overhead rail and conveyor systems.
- Assist technical and mechanical staff, as well as external vendors, in the execution of complex repairs or maintenance projects.
- Log incomplete tasks and new problems in the maintenance log for effective tracking and follow-up.
- Notify production supervisors about any equipment issues impacting production or causing downtime, and update them when equipment is back online.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.
