This full-time position is responsible for performing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, supporting production by maintaining optimal equipment performance. Maintenance Technician - Summary
- Responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of production equipment within a commercial laundry plant.
- Ensures equipment operates efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Performs preventative maintenance, emergent repairs, and technical troubleshooting as needed.
- Works closely with engineering and technical personnel, including outside vendors, to resolve equipment issues.
- Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conducts routine preventative maintenance activities on production equipment according to established schedules.
- Executes timely repairs on all machinery, including overhead rail systems and conveyor systems, ensuring minimal production interruption.
- Collaborates with technical and mechanical staff, as well as external vendors, to resolve complex equipment issues.
- Maintains a comprehensive maintenance log, documenting incomplete tasks, new problems, and resolution steps.
- Communicates with production supervisors about the operational status of equipment, especially when issues may impact production or lead to downtime, and updates on equipment restoration.
- Identifies and addresses equipment issues such as jams, damaged or missing belts, and missing ironer tape.
- Applies appropriate safety procedures, including lockout/tag out, confined space entry, and working on high-temperature equipment.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment for self and colleagues.
- Seeks technical assistance from engineering as required.
- Performs additional duties as assigned to support department and plant objectives.
