Maintenance Technician - Summary
- Responsible for the upkeep and repair of all assigned mechanical equipment in a commercial laundry plant.
- Performs both routine preventive maintenance and urgent repairs as needed to prevent or minimize production downtime.
- Ensures machinery such as conveyor systems, overhead rail systems, and other plant equipment operate efficiently and safely.
- Communicates effectively with production supervisors and engineering staff regarding equipment status and issues.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities to ensure reliable equipment performance.
- Perform timely repairs, addressing issues such as mechanical jams, worn components, missing belts, or ironer tape.
- Assist technical and mechanical personnel, including collaborating with outside vendors when necessary.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs by recording incomplete tasks, new problems, and completed repairs.
- Notify production supervisors about any maintenance activities that may impact production schedules or cause downtime, and report when equipment is returned to service.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tag-out procedures, confined space entry, and safe operation of tools and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment for both self and colleagues.
- Identify and recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and equipment reliability.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations and team goals.
