Mainframe Developer - Summary
- Serve as a subject matter expert in mainframe programming, focusing on IBM systems within a legacy environment.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to address evolving business needs.
- Work independently with minimal supervision to drive programming projects from conception through implementation.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Execute advanced programming tasks in an IMS/mainframe application environment.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of programming projects, including analysis, design, development, and implementation.
- Analyze and troubleshoot mainframe applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Design software solutions by leveraging in-depth knowledge of mainframe technologies such as IMS, CICS, COBOL, JCL, REXX, ISPF, File-Aid, and related tools.
- Translate and modernize batch code using contemporary programming languages and best practices.
- Document workflows and diagram batch processes for improved clarity and operational efficiency.
- Communicate research findings and technical information in accessible business terms, supporting effective collaboration across departments.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing and maintaining IMS/application mainframe applications.
- At least 5 years of experience with CICS/BMS environments.
- Proven expertise of 5+ years in COBOL, CICS, JCL, REXX, ISPF, File-Aid, or similar mainframe products.
- At least 3 years’ experience with File Aid, Expediter, JCL, IMS, and VSAM technologies.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
