Working as a Mail Inserter Operator involves overseeing the entire mail insertion process from start to finish. You will be tasked with performing machine setups prior to manufacturing, ensuring that all equipment is prepared for efficient operation. The role requires you to monitor processes, materials, and surroundings to maintain workflow and ensure that all tools, materials, and necessary equipment are readily available for assembly. You will be responsible for inspecting equipment, structures, and materials for safety and quality, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work area. The Mail Inserter Operator must also adhere to the company’s Quality Policy Statement and actively participate in the Quality Management System.
In addition to operating and monitoring machines, you will interact with other departments in production to resolve issues that may impact group productivity. Training new and less experienced operators is another key responsibility, as is completing required maintenance paperwork and reporting machine malfunctions or replacement part needs to supervisors or mechanics. The Mail Inserter Operator is expected to assist in periodic equipment checks and routine maintenance to ensure machines remain in good working order. Safety is paramount, and you must consistently uphold and monitor safety practices throughout your shift.
This role requires physical stamina, as you may be required to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
