Machine Operator - Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of specialized glass-edging equipment. This role involves setting up, running, and maintaining machinery that polishes and fabricates glass or mirror edges according to customer specifications. As a Machine Operator, you will handle glass materials throughout various production stages, inspect finished products for quality, and ensure that all work aligns with company standards and safety protocols. Your ability to work both independently and as part of a team will be essential in meeting production goals and maintaining a high standard of excellence. Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate single side straight-line glass-edging machines to polish glass or mirror edges according to specific job orders.
- Start and monitor machines, efficiently placing glass or mirrors onto conveyor systems for processing.
- Fabricate glass products to exact specifications, verifying geometric dimensions and quality based on work orders and customer requirements.
- Move finished glass products from machines, cleaning and inspecting edges to remove polishing compounds and ensure quality standards are met.
- Use overhead cranes and other lifting equipment to maneuver large or heavy glass pieces safely onto machinery.
- Read and follow detailed work instructions, accurately interpreting labels, paperwork, and picking lists to expedite production workflows.
- Maintain compliance with all safety regulations and standard operating procedures, contributing to a secure and efficient workplace.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment is preferred, especially within the glass industry, though not required.
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate information on paperwork, labels, and production lists effectively.
- Proficient in basic mathematical measurements and skilled in the use of a tape measure.
- Physically capable of working in all production areas and able to stand on feet for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted and up to 150 lbs with a team member, ensuring safe handling of materials.
- Willingness and ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment as required by production needs.
- Demonstrated capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
