Machine Operators play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of the manufacturing floor. By running single-side straight-line glass edging machines, they polish glass and mirror edges to precise specifications. This task requires attention to detail, as operators must continuously inspect products for defects and report any abnormalities to supervisors. The ability to read and interpret work instructions, labels, and picking lists is essential for success in this role.
This position requires maintaining production flow by meeting daily output goals and following all safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment. Operators are expected to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team, especially when handling larger materials that require coordinated effort. The role also involves standing for extended periods and the physical capability to lift and maneuver heavy loads, ensuring that production lines remain active and efficient throughout each shift.
Experience with CNC, CMS, hand fabrication, or polishing machines is preferred but not mandatory, making this an excellent entry point for candidates with a background in manufacturing or production environments. The ability to read a tape measure and follow both written and verbal instructions are fundamental requirements. Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled setting is necessary, as is the capacity to lift up to 75 lbs independently and up to 150 lbs with assistance, while also being able to push or pull materials exceeding 150 lbs as part of a team.
