The Linen Transporter plays a vital role in supporting healthcare environments by ensuring that all linen carts are fully stocked and that soiled linens are efficiently collected and transported for processing. Responsible for handling both clean and soiled linens, the Linen Transporter helps maintain hygiene standards and supports the daily operations of medical facilities. This position requires the ability to manage heavy loads, maintain accurate inventory records, and deliver high-quality service in accordance with company policies and safety protocols.
As a Linen Transporter, you will be expected to adhere to all company guidelines and policies as outlined in the employee handbook, including attendance, uniform requirements, and proper conduct. Attention to detail is crucial, as you will be responsible for counting and recording inventory, assembling carts to set standards, and ensuring that all equipment and work areas are clean and organized. Effective communication and a courteous, professional attitude are essential in interactions with hospital staff and team members.
This position requires physical stamina and strength, as duties include pushing and pulling loaded carts, lifting up to 50 lbs., and moving wheeled carts weighing up to 650 lbs. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary, as shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of healthcare facilities. The Linen Transporter must also comply with all safety procedures and universal precautions, reporting any issues related to customer service or safety promptly to management. Linen Transporter - Summary- Responsible for stocking, delivering, and collecting linen carts within healthcare facilities
- Maintains inventory records and ensures cleanliness of equipment and workspaces
- Supports hospital staff by fulfilling linen orders and upholding safety standards
- Adheres to all company policies, including attendance and uniform requirements
- Assemble and organize linen carts to company standards
- Deliver clean linens to designated departments in the facility
- Collect soiled linen carts from all floors, especially during second shifts
- Accurately count and record linen inventory
- Take and fulfill linen orders from hospital staff promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of linen rooms through sweeping, mopping, and organizing as needed
- Open new linens for processing and stage carts for distribution
- Follow all safety procedures and universal precautions during all tasks
- Report any customer service or safety issues to management immediately
- Other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of linen services
