Linen Manager - Summary
The Linen Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of the linen distribution program within a healthcare facility. This includes overseeing the distribution and collection of linens, maintaining inventory, ensuring cleanliness, and adhering to regulatory standards. The Linen Manager acts as a bridge between the laundry processing plant and hospital staff, ensuring that all linen needs are met efficiently and effectively, and that all operations are compliant with organizational and industry standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct assignment, scheduling, and supervision of distribution staff and soil collection associates.
- Oversee the receiving, recording, distribution, and collection of linens to guarantee uninterrupted service to all end users.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of work areas and linen storage rooms.
- Conduct general and spot inspections of laundered items to ensure compliance with HLAC, OSHA, and JCAHO standards.
- Maintain accurate records related to department attendance, production efficiency, and linen tracking.
- Communicate regularly with hospital departments to gather feedback and address linen service needs.
- Participate in linen program meetings and committees as required to drive continuous improvement.
- Interview, onboard, and train new team members to ensure effective integration and performance.
- Provide specialized services to departments with unique requirements, including obtaining necessary administrative approvals.
- Offer educational support on proper linen utilization and report any misuse or overuse to management.
- Serve as a hands-on manager, performing distribution or soil collection tasks as needed to meet staffing requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
- Successful completion of department orientation and any pre/post-employment testing as per company policies.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats.

- Demonstrated organizational skills in dynamic and changing environments.
