The Linen Manager plays a crucial leadership role in overseeing the hospital's linen and laundry operations. This position is responsible for ensuring a consistent and adequate supply of clean linens throughout the healthcare facility, working collaboratively with both the laundry processing plant and hospital staff to maintain exceptional service standards. The Linen Manager is tasked with managing distribution staff, coordinating scheduling, maintaining inventory records, and upholding compliance with all regulatory requirements. Linen Manager - Summary
- Directly manages the linen and laundry program for the entire healthcare facility, ensuring all user areas have a steady supply of clean linens.
- Acts as the primary liaison between the laundry processing plant, hospital personnel, and facility management for seamless service delivery.
- Ensures compliance with industry standards such as HLAC, OSHA, and JCAHO.
- Maintains accurate department records and participates in program meetings and committees.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assigning and scheduling daily duties for distribution staff and soil collection associates.
- Oversight of linen receiving, recording, distribution, and collection to maintain uninterrupted service to all end users.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization in assigned work areas and linen storage rooms.
- Conducting inspections of laundered articles to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintaining records on department attendance, production efficiency, and linen tracking.
- Communicating with various hospital departments to gather feedback and improve the linen services program.
- Preparing for and participating in meetings related to the linen program and committees as needed.
- Interviewing, onboarding, orienting, and training new employees within the linen services team.
- Providing services and gaining necessary approvals for departments with special linen requirements.
- Educating staff on appropriate linen use and reporting any overuse, abuse, or misuse, including recommendations for improvements.
- Serving as a "working manager" by filling in for associates during absences to ensure operational continuity.
