As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – School Nurse, your primary responsibility will be to offer direct, individualized nursing care to a student who requires ongoing medical attention during school hours. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or school health administrator and in accordance with the student’s Individualized Healthcare Plan (IHP) or other care directives. - Operate under the guidance of school health professionals and according to established medical care plans.

- Serve as a liaison between the student, family, school staff, and healthcare providers.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor and document the student’s health status, reporting any changes to appropriate personnel.
- Coordinate and communicate with teachers, school counselors, and administration to support the student’s educational participation.
- Respond to emergencies and implement first aid or life-saving measures as needed.
- Assist with activities of daily living, mobility, and other student-specific needs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with regulations.
- Educate the student and staff on health-related topics as appropriate.
- Ensure infection control and hygiene standards are followed at all times.
