The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – School Nurse plays a critical role in supporting student health and wellness within the educational environment. This full-time position for the 2025-26 school year offers an opportunity to provide direct, individualized nursing care to a student at the elementary school level. As a 1:1 School Nurse, the LPN will be responsible for accompanying the student throughout the school day, ensuring their health and safety in various school settings, including transportation to and from school via the school bus. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – School Nurse will serve as a vital member of the school’s health services team, facilitating the implementation of Department of Health (DoH) protocols and ensuring compliance with relevant health guidelines. The role requires the ability to deliver first aid and emergency care to students and staff, manage electronic and paper health records, dispense medications, and train school personnel on essential health and safety procedures such as First Aid, CPR, and AED usage. In addition, the LPN will refer students for further medical evaluation as needed and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student health and well-being.
