Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – School Nurse 1:1 Summary
- Full-time position providing 1:1 nursing care for a medically fragile elementary student
- Daily responsibilities include health monitoring, direct care, and safe transportation assistance
- Role based in a supportive educational environment

Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver continuous, individualized nursing care to a student with complex medical needs throughout the entire school day
- Oversee and manage G-tube feedings and ensure proper nutritional support
- Provide expert tracheostomy (trach) care to maintain airway safety
- Monitor for seizure activity and implement immediate, appropriate responses as needed
- Support all activities of daily living (ADLs) for a fully dependent student, including hygiene, mobility, and feeding
- Accompany the student on the school bus or van to and from home, ensuring medical needs are met during transit (transportation time is fully compensated)
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, administrative staff, and the student’s family to follow individualized care plans
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of student care and interventions
- Communicate effectively with all members of the care team to ensure seamless support and safety

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current and active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Georgia

- Reliable transportation and a strong record of attendance
- School-based or pediatric experience is highly desirable, though not required
