As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – School 1:1, your role extends beyond traditional nursing by providing continuity of care throughout the student’s school experience, including bus transportation. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – School 1:1 Summary- Full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position providing 1:1 care for an elementary student with traumatic brain injury (TBI)
- Role includes direct medical support throughout the school day and during bus transportation
- Focus on high-acuity nursing skills within a school setting
- Collaborative and supportive work environment in Hampton, GA
- Paid transportation time as part of the workday
- Deliver continuous 1:1 nursing support to a student with complex medical needs, including TBI
- Monitor and manage seizure activity, respond promptly and appropriately to any episodes
- Administer G-tube feedings according to individualized care plans
- Handle medication administration (med-load), ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols
- Assist the student with all activities of daily living (ADLs) due to full dependence
- Accompany and provide care during transportation to and from school on the bus/van (paid time)
- Collaborate closely with school staff and participate in care team meetings
- Document care provided and maintain accurate records as required by school policy
- Adhere to established health and safety guidelines and individualized care plans
