The role of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is integral to the smooth operation and delivery of high-quality patient care in a primary care clinic setting. As a valued member of the healthcare team, the LPN or CMA provides essential clinical and administrative support to both patients and providers. This full-time position requires a blend of clinical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills to ensure the best possible patient experience and efficient clinic workflow.
In this position, the LPN or CMA is responsible for the triage of patients, which includes assessing patient needs, gathering and recording vital signs, and ensuring that all relevant patient information is accurately entered into the electronic medical records (EMR) system. Venipuncture and phlebotomy are key clinical tasks, as is medication reconciliation—verifying and updating patient medication lists to promote safety and continuity of care. The LPN or CMA regularly assists healthcare providers during examinations and medical procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are prepared and that patients feel comfortable and informed.
Administrative responsibilities are also an important aspect of this role. The LPN or CMA manages incoming and outgoing phone communications, which involves answering calls, taking detailed and accurate messages, and reaching out to patients to provide information or follow up on care instructions. Exceptional customer service skills are necessary to foster positive interactions and support patients throughout their healthcare journey. The ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and work both independently and collaboratively with the clinical team is essential for success in this dynamic environment.
Collaboration and teamwork form the foundation of a successful clinic. The LPN or CMA will work closely with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure a seamless patient experience. Flexibility and adaptability are vital, as priorities can shift quickly in a busy primary care or urgent care setting. The ideal candidate will bring previous experience from similar clinical environments, a strong commitment to patient care, and the ability to adapt to new processes and technologies as the clinic evolves.
This full-time role offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, holidays, a retirement account, health insurance, dental insurance, and a 401(k) plan. The clinic fosters a supportive and inclusive workplace, encouraging professional growth and development for all team members. Employees are valued for their contributions and are encouraged to bring their unique perspectives and skills to the team. If you are passionate about patient care, possess strong clinical and administrative abilities, and are eager to contribute to a collaborative healthcare environment, we invite you to apply for this rewarding opportunity as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
