As a Leasing Consultant, your responsibilities will include welcoming prospective residents, conducting engaging property tours, and effectively highlighting community amenities and available floor plans. You will respond promptly and professionally to inquiries received via phone, email, and online platforms, ensuring all questions are addressed with clarity and enthusiasm. Your expertise will be vital in qualifying prospects, explaining lease terms and fees, and guiding applicants through the leasing process. Additionally, you will prepare and execute lease documentation, manage renewals, and facilitate move-in procedures with accuracy and attention to detail.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of unit availability, pricing options, and ongoing community promotions is essential. You will follow up with prospects to convert leads into leases, utilizing property management software such as Yardi or RealPage to track activity and manage occupancy goals. Coordination with maintenance and management teams will ensure that units are move-in ready and any resident concerns are addressed efficiently. Handling resident relations professionally and escalating maintenance or policy issues when necessary are key aspects of the role. Participation in community events, tours, and marketing initiatives, including managing online listings, social media outreach, and open houses, will further support your success in this position.
To thrive as a Leasing Consultant, candidates should bring at least one year of experience in leasing, sales, customer service, or hospitality. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required, as well as a professional appearance and a commitment to outstanding customer service. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment is essential. Candidates should be comfortable with basic math, proficient in property management or CRM software, and possess Microsoft Office skills. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for occasional off-site showings. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with college coursework or real estate licensing considered advantageous.
