Leasing Consultant - Summary
The Leasing Consultant position is essential for maintaining high occupancy rates and ensuring resident satisfaction within the apartment community. You will be responsible for showcasing the property, responding to inquiries, processing lease agreements, and collaborating with both residents and the management team. By utilizing your excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail, you will help prospective residents find their next home and provide ongoing support throughout their stay.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome prospective residents, conduct tours of the property, and highlight amenities and available floor plans.
- Respond to inquiries from phone, email, and online platforms in a timely and professional manner.
- Qualify potential residents by explaining lease terms, fees, and application requirements, and assist with the application and approval process.
- Accurately prepare and execute all lease paperwork, renewals, and move-in documentation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of unit availability, pricing, incentives, and community promotions to effectively communicate with prospects and residents.
- Follow up with prospective residents to convert leads and meet occupancy targets, utilizing property management software such as Yardi or RealPage to track activity.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance and management teams to ensure units are ready for move-in and resolve resident concerns efficiently.
- Provide courteous assistance to residents, escalating maintenance or policy issues when necessary to ensure prompt resolution.
- Meet or exceed established weekly and monthly leasing and occupancy targets, and report activity to management as required.
- Participate in community events, property tours, and marketing initiatives, including online listings, social media campaigns, and open house events.

Qualifications & Requirements
- At least one year of experience in leasing, sales, customer service, or hospitality is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential for success in this role.
- Professional appearance and a strong customer-service orientation are required.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team; reliability and punctuality are musts.
- Comfortable with basic math for explaining lease terms and fees.
- Proficiency with computers and property management or CRM software; Microsoft Office skills are required.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be needed for off-site showings.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; college coursework or real estate licensing is a plus.
