In this Leasing Consultant role, you will greet prospective residents, conduct detailed property tours, and showcase the unique amenities and floor plans available. Your expertise in responding promptly to inquiries—whether by phone, email, or online—will be integral to providing exceptional customer service. You will qualify prospects, explain lease terms and application requirements, and assist applicants through every step of the leasing process, ensuring all documentation is handled accurately and efficiently.
As a Leasing Consultant, you will stay informed about current unit availability, pricing, and community promotions, ensuring you can provide updated and relevant information to prospective residents. Your follow-up skills will be critical in converting leads, meeting occupancy goals, and tracking progress in property management software such as Yardi or RealPage. By coordinating with maintenance and management teams, you will help ensure that units are move-in ready and that resident concerns are resolved swiftly and professionally.
This position involves more than just leasing; you will also be actively involved in community events, tours, and marketing initiatives such as online listings, social media engagement, and open houses. Building positive relationships with residents and ensuring their satisfaction will be key to your success. You will also be expected to handle resident relations issues courteously, escalating maintenance or policy matters when necessary, and providing regular activity reports to management.
To excel in this role, candidates should have at least one year of experience in leasing, sales, customer service, or hospitality, with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. A professional appearance and a customer-service orientation are essential, as is the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a proactive approach to daily responsibilities are highly valued.
Comfort with basic math, the ability to explain lease terms and fees, and proficiency with computers and property management or CRM software are all required. Microsoft Office competency is a must, and experience with platforms like Yardi or RealPage is highly desirable. Candidates should possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation for occasional off-site showings. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while college coursework or real estate licensing is considered an asset.
