Leasing Consultant - Summary
- The Leasing Consultant is responsible for managing the leasing process, delivering exceptional customer service, and supporting residents throughout their time at the property.
- This role involves guiding prospective residents through tours, responding to inquiries, coordinating move-ins, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of unit availability and community promotions.
- The Leasing Consultant will work closely with property management and maintenance teams to ensure seamless operations and high resident satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet prospective residents and conduct engaging property tours, showcasing amenities and available floor plans.
- Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries received via phone, email, and online platforms, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Qualify potential residents, explain lease terms, fees, and application requirements, and provide support throughout the application process.
- Prepare and execute lease paperwork, renewals, and move-in documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of current unit availability, pricing, incentives, and ongoing community promotions to keep prospects informed.
- Follow up with leads using property management software such as Yardi or RealPage to convert interest into signed leases and meet occupancy targets.
- Coordinate with maintenance and management staff to ensure apartments are move-in ready and resident concerns are addressed quickly and professionally.
- Handle resident relations, including addressing and escalating maintenance or policy issues as needed, with courtesy and professionalism.
- Meet or exceed weekly and monthly leasing and occupancy goals, providing regular activity reports to management.
- Participate in community marketing initiatives, including online listings, social media efforts, open houses, and resident events.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in leasing, sales, customer service, or hospitality preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
- Exceptional customer service orientation and a professional appearance.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
- Comfort with basic math for explaining lease terms, fees, and conducting application reviews.
- Proficiency in computers, Microsoft Office, and property management or CRM software such as Yardi or RealPage.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for off-site showings, as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or real estate licensing is a plus.
