Leasing Consultants are on the front lines of resident engagement, responsible for making positive first impressions and guiding prospects through the leasing process. You will be the primary contact for inquiries, tours, and lease execution, ensuring all residents and prospective tenants receive excellent service. Your role is central in maintaining high occupancy rates by converting leads into leases and supporting the community’s marketing and promotional initiatives.
As a valued member of the property management team, you will collaborate with management, maintenance, and other staff to ensure that all resident needs are met and that move-ins and renewals proceed smoothly. Leasing Consultant - Summary
- Acts as the first point of contact for prospective residents and current tenants at apartment communities.
- Performs property tours, highlights amenities, and presents available floor plans.
- Manages the leasing process from initial inquiry through move-in and renewal.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome prospective residents, conduct engaging property tours, and showcase amenities and available floor plans to highlight the community’s features.
- Respond promptly and professionally to all phone, email, and online inquiries, providing detailed information about the community and available units.
- Qualify prospects by explaining leasing terms, fees, and application requirements; assist with all aspects of the application and approval process.
- Prepare and execute lease paperwork, including renewals and move-in documentation, with accuracy and attention to timelines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of unit availability, pricing, incentives, and community promotions to provide accurate information to prospects.
- Follow up with prospective residents to cultivate leads, convert inquiries into signed leases, and meet or exceed occupancy targets.
- Utilize property management software (such as Yardi or RealPage) to track leads, manage applications, and generate reports for management review.
- Coordinate with maintenance and management teams to ensure apartments are ready for move-in and to address any resident concerns promptly.
- Handle resident relations issues with courtesy and professionalism, escalating maintenance or policy matters as needed to management.
- Participate in community marketing initiatives, including online listings, social media campaigns, open houses, and resident events to enhance property visibility and resident engagement.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of one year of experience in leasing, sales, customer service, or hospitality preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential for success in this role.
- Professional appearance and a customer-service-oriented approach are required.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in work attendance.
- Comfortable with basic math skills and able to clearly explain lease terms and associated fees to prospects and residents.
- Proficiency in computers and common property management or CRM software platforms; experience with Microsoft Office suite is necessary.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for off-site property showings as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional college coursework or real estate licensing is advantageous.
