Lead Oracle DBA - Summary
- Serve as the primary lead for all Oracle database administration, overseeing both strategic planning and daily operations.
- Manage enterprise-grade database platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Mentor and guide a team of database engineers and administrators.
- Collaborate with security and audit teams to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in database performance, reliability, and scalability.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead operational and strategic management of Oracle and related database platforms, including on-premise and cloud solutions.
- Ensure optimal database availability, performance, recoverability, and security.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to database teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
- Develop, implement, and enforce performance monitoring, alerting, and telemetry standards.
- Coordinate with Information Security (InfoSec) and Audit teams to ensure that all database systems remain compliant with internal and external security policies.
- Oversee Oracle GoldenGate replication architectures and support complex replication solutions.
- Manage the full lifecycle of Oracle patching, ensuring timely updates and minimal disruption.
- Support and troubleshoot Oracle, SQL Server, Exadata, and cloud-native databases such as Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL platforms.
- Utilize scripting languages including PowerShell, Python, and Bash to automate database processes and improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements
- 8-10 years of professional experience in IT with a focus on relational database management and administration.
- Minimum of 2 years leading or mentoring technical teams within database or platform engineering.
- Demonstrated expertise in Oracle database technologies, with experience in Oracle GoldenGate replication architectures.
- Experience managing the full Oracle patch lifecycle for enterprise environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, Exadata, and cloud-native database systems (Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
