Lead Low Voltage Technician Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Low Voltage Technician to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems. This full-time opportunity offers the chance to work with a dynamic team and develop advanced technical skills within the low voltage sector. The position of Lead Low Voltage Technician is critical to ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our clients' systems.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and guide a team of low voltage technicians on assigned projects, ensuring all work meets company and industry standards.
- Install, configure, and maintain various low voltage systems, including but not limited to security systems, fire alarms, access control, CCTV, and structured cabling.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with low voltage equipment and infrastructure efficiently and effectively.
- Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical documents related to low voltage systems.
- Ensure all installations comply with safety codes, regulations, and company protocols.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and system configurations.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Assist with project planning, estimating materials, and scheduling work to ensure timely completion.
- Proven experience in low voltage system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, preferably in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to low voltage technologies.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Relevant low voltage certifications are highly desirable. Examples may include BICSI Technician, NICET certification, or manufacturer-specific credentials.
