Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide direct inpatient and perioperative care for cardiothoracic surgery patients, including first-assist in the operating room, ICU management, and pre/post-operative evaluation and care.
- Lead, coordinate, and support APP staffing, coverage, and workflow across cardiothoracic services.
- Oversee onboarding and orientation of new advanced practice providers, ensuring comprehensive and consistent training.
- Facilitate ongoing clinical competency, education, and professional development for APPs.
- Serve as a clinical role model for team members, promoting a positive, engaged, and collaborative environment.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and administration to improve care quality, operational efficiency, and patient safety.
- Support and participate in performance improvement, research, and clinical initiatives within the service line.
- Assist with credentialing processes and ensure adherence to clinical standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication among multidisciplinary teams and departments.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a valid PA license and current NCCPA certification (PA-C).
- Prior experience in cardiothoracic surgery, critical care, or high-acuity surgical settings is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities or prior team lead experience is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical skills in perioperative care, operating room assistance, and ICU management.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
