The Laundry Operations Manager (also referred to as Laundry Ops Manager) plays a pivotal role in overseeing the seamless production and distribution processes within a large-scale industrial laundry facility. This essential position is responsible for directing all aspects of laundry operations, from staff development to regulatory compliance, ensuring that customer requirements are consistently met with high-quality results. The Laundry Operations Manager is integral in coordinating with various departments, such as engineering, distribution, service, and office management, to create a unified and efficient work environment. This role demands a strong focus on operational efficiency, staff safety, cost control, and the delivery of premium healthcare linen products.
As the Laundry Operations Manager, you will lead a dedicated operations management team, ensuring that production targets and standards are achieved daily. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer or Engineering Manager to maintain the safe operation and upkeep of all production equipment, as well as partner with the Office Manager to guarantee human resources functions, training, compliance, payroll, and benefits administration are handled in accordance with organizational policies. Your leadership will extend to chairing the plant safety committee, overseeing regulatory compliance related to HLAC, OSHA, and JCAHO standards, and participating in facility and client hospital committees. Through proactive management, you will contribute to the professional development of your team and manage inventory, utility usage, and supply procurement to optimize cost control.
With your background in business management and hands-on experience in operational leadership, you will develop and implement action plans and personal development plans for supervisors, fostering a culture of growth and accountability. Your role will also involve conducting laundry surveys for potential clients, supporting the general manager with performance appraisals, and ensuring corrective action plans are in place as necessary. Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of industrial laundry processing and delivery.
- Lead staff development, training, and performance management to achieve production goals.
- Act as liaison with engineering and office management to maintain equipment and ensure HR compliance.
- Chair or co-chair plant safety committee; oversee regulatory compliance for HLAC, OSHA, JCAHO, and other agencies.
- Participate in facility and client hospital committees, including Joint Commission and Linen Committee.
- Attend and document laundry surveys for prospective clients.
- Assist general manager with staff performance appraisals, coaching, and corrective actions.
- Develop and implement action plans and personal development plans for supervisory staff.
- Oversee cost control measures related to utilities, supplies, linen purchases, and inventory management.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 2 to 5 years of combined operations and/or management experience required.
- Strong knowledge of production methods and process monitoring.
- Ability to learn and understand functions of industrial laundry equipment and washroom chemistry.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
