Laundry Equipment Technician - Summary
- Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of commercial laundry machinery.
- Performs both scheduled preventative maintenance and emergent repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Works closely with technical personnel, production supervisors, and external vendors as needed.
- Maintains detailed maintenance and repair logs for all assigned equipment.
- Supports a safe and clean work environment for all team members.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Execute scheduled preventative maintenance activities on laundry equipment as per company guidelines.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues, including jams, worn or missing belts, and missing ironer tape.
- Assist engineering staff and mechanical teams, as well as coordinate with outside vendors for specialized repairs.
- Keep comprehensive maintenance logs, noting incomplete tasks, new problems, and repair progress.
- Notify production supervisors of equipment status, particularly if issues may impact production or cause downtime, and update when equipment is operational again.
- Order necessary parts from approved vendors and ensure parts inventory is maintained for timely repairs.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including lockout/tag out and confined space entry, and maintain a clean, safe work area.
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned by management.
